I have to admit I had always thought of Angkor more as a temple than a city. I had long been keen to visit, but was unable to get there when nearby in the 1990s due to the security situation.
I was delighted then to finally get there recently and also discover that the site actually has over 600 temples across what was once the world’s largest city. I was also lucky enough to meet up with a professor who worked on the recent BBC programme on Angkor, who steered me towards some of the less discovered temples.
