I have always been a great fan of Scotland’s impressive sweep of islands. That they total more than 800 is often a source of surprise amongst readers.
I’ve spent many trips cruising these epic islands so we delighted to be asked by the National Trust for Scotland to pen a piece for their Scotland in Trust magazine.
In it I hope I share at least a little of my deep love for these islands that feel very much at the end of the world, but boast some of the most compelling wildlife and intriguing history anywhere in Scotland.
